Critiques:
Photo 1: I used leading lines by the lines of the mirror frame draws the viewer's eye to the subject. While the use of negative space enhances the subject's isolation. The contrast between the dark background and the light subject adds depth to the composition.
Photo 2: I used emphasis as my subject is in the middle of the frame, drawing your eyes towards the subject. The lighting of the sun poking through the trees adds interest to the photo and the use of contrast makes it visually appealing.
Photo 3: I used the rule of thirds when taking this photo by placing my subjects in a third of the frame. To emphasize them I put them in focus and blurred the other person taking the photo. I also placed the SRT logo in the background to tell a story.
Photo 4: I used colour and emphasis in this photo to add interest, by the hacky sack being the only colourful object in frame. I also used texture as by zooming in, all the different textures can be captured.
Photo 5: I used negative space for this photo to emphasize my subject, as the background before was distracting. I also cropped the original photo to make it more visually appealing. I also used contrast by having a darker subject in a light composition.
Photo 6: I used leading lines as the books in front lead your eyes towards my main subject. Texture was used to add more interest into the photo, by capturing the texture of the books. I used contrast to add depth by having the foreground be darker than the background.
Photo 7: I followed the rules of thirds by placing the phone in a third of the frame to make it more appealing. I used colour by having all the shades of greens stand out to add some pop to the photo. To capture this photo I experimented with the different angles to get the sun in the perfect position.
Photo 8: I used texture by using macro mode in the camera to add some fascination to the photo. I also used emphasis and focused on background by blurring out the background to really focus on my subject.
Photo 9: I used value to add drama into the photo as I thought it looked plain normal. I also filled the frame and cropped my photo to make it more visually appealing, and focus on my subject.
Photo 10: I used texture and colour by using macro mode on the camera to really capture the elements of the tassel, adding interest to the photo. I also used emphasis by having the tassel being the only thing focused in frame, guiding the viewers eye to it.
Photo 11: I used rule of thirds by placing my subject in a third of the frame to make the photo more visually appealing. I also used contrast as my subjects shirt is dark in a light composition. I also used texture by capturing all the different textures of nature to make my photo more appealing.
Photo 12: By cropping the photo so it’s just their waist and below, it highlights their caps and feet. I also used balance by the frame being balanced and emphasis by my subjects being in the middle of the frame.
Photo 13: I used movement by my subjects being being mid hacky sacking and emphasis by placing him in the middle of the frame. I also focused on my background being interesting as a plain background would’ve been boring.
Photo 14: I used leading lines by the stem guides your eyes throughout the frame. I also almost framed the photo with the leaf being blurred in the foreground, adding interest. I used colour by the photo being all colourful to make it pop.
Photo 15: I used contrast by the sun being light in a dark composition. I also used rule of thirds by placing my subject in the third of the frame to make it more appealing. I focused on the viewpoint of the photo and moved around from different angles.
