In the first photo I used value by having a range of light to dark, creating depth and interest. I also used balance as the photo is symmetric, creating a sense of balance. To take this photo I folded over a book page the shined a light on the outside.
I used texture in the second photo, as the different textures of the wall is shown, adding interest. I also followed rule of thirds as the light is placed in a third of the frame. To shoot this photo I found a cool looking part of a wall, but thought it needed something so I got Aubrey to shine a light at an angle to add curiosity.
In the third photo I used leading lines as the wood/sticks lead towards the end of the tunnel. I also used contrast as there is a difference between light and dark making it more visually appealing. To take this photo I used a wooden arch and put my iPad at the end of it with a cool photo on it.
For the fourth photo I used texture and colour to really make the photo intriguing. To create this photo I was shooting another subject and was using the light reflector and realized it looked cool having a light shined on it, so I played around with it.
In the last photo I used colour to make the photo more visually appealing, as if I were to use a plain light it wouldn’t be as interesting. I also used texture and emphasis, as the water drops are in focus emphasizing them. I also used emphasis by shooting the photo in macro mode to capture the water drops.
